[DrunkAndRetired.com Podcast] Episode 02: The Life Agile, Part 2

(Click here to download/listen to the podcast.)

There’s (above) the second episode for the old podcast. It’s the rest of Charles and I talking about Agile, software stuff, all girded by his time at ThoughtWorks. I think there’s some more StarControl sounds too…and dog barking.

You know you’ve been hittin’ reload on this page just waiting for this second episode!

  1. Surprisingly entertaining. I really enjoyed the accounts from ThoughtWorks. I got a brief taste of the custom software consulting world when I was at OSI.

I got out as quickly as I could and I told myself I would retire from the industry before doing anything like that again (although I have done some integration work for some banks). I think most good software developers do the same.

Also I get very nervous when anybody has a dogma about any methodology whether it is Agile, XP, or whatever.

BTW, how many condoms were used in the US last night?

  2. Awesome! I especially liked the wind chimes in the background.

It’s fun to hear you guys banter back and forth about the business vs. programmers conundrum. Having worked both sides of the fence I can say that the issue is a tough one to get a handle on. Suffice it to say, your conclusion that dogma should be avoided agrees with the conclusions I’ve come to.

  3. Baus: Thanks for the compliment. I’m glad you it was entertaining ;> Unfortunitly, I don’t know how many used condoms there are every night in the US. Consequently, I don’t couldn’t get through the interview process at MSFT.

Ed: I’m glad you liked it too! Thanks!
